The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater

This year I reread the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. Overall I would just recommend these to everyone. The story line is interesting, the characters are amazing and the writing is beautiful. It takes a while to get into, but once you do, they're AMAZING. The Raven King (the last book in the series) was released in late April and I really want to read it but it isn't in bookshops in Australia! Like, the weekend after it was out, I went to Dymocks and it wasn't there and I was like, oh, it must be in sometime soon. And then I went home and went on the website and it said it wouldn't be instore till 1ST JULY 2016!!!!???? Like WTF? So now I'm annoyed. So I'm going to get it from Amazon instead. And then I'll get the hardcover as well! :D The thing I love most about this series is probably the characters because they're all really complex and believable and I love all of them (well most of them). The story's also really fascinating and complicated and IT'S JUST SO GOOD! You should read it. It's way better than the Shiver series, which was also written by this author. The Raven Boys is the first one, the The Dream Thieves, then Blue Lily, Lily Blue and finally the Raven King.

Just One Day by Gayle Forman

Just One Day is a contemporary by Gayle Forman, the author who wrote If I Stay, Where She Went and I Was Here. I have enjoyed her other books, and this was probably one of the happier ones. I felt like the middle of the book was a bit slow, though I loved  the beginning, and the cliffhanger at the end was so annoying! I'm probably not going to pick up Just One Year, as the story line didn't really make me feel like I need to read it all over again, or continue the story. I would recommend this for fans of contemporaries, though not necessarily excessively cheesy or happy ones. Overall I would give this a 4 star, 87%

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

Leviathan is a historical fiction book set in an alternate World War I. The Darwinists (England and it's allies) and the Clankers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, etc.) are on the brink of war. The Darwinists have kind of hybrid animals that they use as planes and a method of transport. The Clankers use machines. Deryn is pretending to be a boy in the air force, where she is placed upon the Leviathan, a giant whale, aircraft. Alek is the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, but his people have turned on hime and he's on the run. Together they meet aboard the Leviathan, and sends them on an adventure that will change their livews forever. I quite liked this book , though sometimes Deryn annoyed me, but overall I enjoyed it. I think this book is meant to be YA, though it gave off more of a middle grade vibe. 4 stars, 80%

The Revenge of Seven by Pittacus Lore

The Revenge of Seven is the 5th book in the Lorien Legacies Series. This book was released a long time ago, though I want to finish reading the series before United As One comes out. I didn't enjoy the other books in the Lorien Legacies series that much, and I still didn't love this one. I feel like it seems like the last one, but it isn't, and that they probably could have finished the series a long time ago. Despite it's flaws, The Revenge of Seven is still a strong book that has humour, action and romance. I gave this a 4 star, 78%

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

Truthwitch is a YA fantasy about two girls, Threadsisters, called Safi and Iseult. I like this book, though I felt disappointed by the hype, even though I still enjoyed it. I felt like the world building was underdeveloped, but other than that it was great. My favourite character would have to be Iseult, as I liked her much more than Safi, who I found a bit annoying. I loved Merik, (mainly just my bias towards princes) and I found the whole concept interesting, though I felt like the different types of witches needed more explaining and the history of the Witchlands. I loved the bit where the sea monster thing attacked the ship and the end was really good. Overall I would give this a 88% and 5 stars, and I can't wait for the sequel, which I think has lots of potential to be even better than Truthwitch.
